Multimedia Perspectives brings TV distribution to the Mount Magnet Gold Mine camp in Australia

Multimedia Perspectives and its Perth partner, Sciteq, have developed a TV distribution solution for the Mount Magnet Gold Mine camp, operated by Ramelius Resources in Western Australia. The project had to guarantee a stable service in a remote environment and bring television to the main areas of the complex, including the accommodation, dining and recreational areas.

The infrastructure, based on the FLOW smart headend, receives and processes different TV sources and integrates both free-to-air DVB-S content from the Australian VAST service and pay-TV content from Foxtel. From these sources a channel line-up is created and distributed in DVB-T RF across the camp's facilities.

The solution combines multi-standard processing, DRM-protected content distribution and signal quality across the whole installation. The project also extends FLOW's applications in the Australian market to a remote industrial environment, where service continuity and infrastructure reliability are especially important.
